How to install Windows server 2008 R2-Enterprise edition on Vmware
Hi, here i am using Windows server 2008 R2-Enterprise,if you have server 2008 R1 you can install on vpc(virtual pc).Vmware is a advance than vpc thats why i am using vmware.You can get vmware from torrent.
1.Download the VMware Workstation 9( or latest) from torrent with serial
2.Install Vmware and register with the given serial.
3.Open the Vmware shortcut from desktop
4.Now you can see some options like create new virtual machine,open existing like that....
5.Click on create new other wise you can open file-->>new virtual machine
6.Select typical from the next window.
7.Dont select install disc image(iso) why means if you select this one it is a automatic installation.Always select i will install the operating system later.
8.Now it ask the name and location---you can set in your D:/ drive or any drive--->>next
9.Now it ask about HDD space that you can set but in the case of Windows server 2008 R2-Enterprise minimum requirement is 40 GB.select 40 GB-->>next
10.If now it ask about you RAM space allocation then mention 1GB.
11.At last it show one window of overview their you can see one option for customize your hardware
12.Click on customize hardware and adjust RAM size and select on CD/DVD add your image file
13.you can see one icon in customise network ---->>it is used to configure the network.Here you need to select Bridge.Bridge connection give a link b/w your pc and that virtual pc.If your selected bridge then both your and virtual pc`s are working under same network
eg: your ip is 192.168.1.51
if you select bridge your virtual ip also in same range like 192.168.1.X---x means it is variable.By default it is in NAT(network address transilation) it gives you a differenet NAT ip.I will explain about NAT(at the time of server roles).
14.Click on finish.
15.Now it will be restart.you can use F2/DEL for virtual BIOS
16.Installation like Windows 7 but remember some points:
a) You need to set correct country and Time zone (it is a server other wise if your time and your client time are different then some updations are not apply.)
b) Install Windows server 2008 R2-Enterprise full edition,if your installed core edition you cant get graphical user that is a CLI(command line interface)
c)Set a complex password.it not allow a simple password set like pass@123
17.After completion of installation restart and logon to administrator.
