How to configure E-mail with thunderbird

Hi, here i am explaining abut how to configure gmail in thunderbird. Why thunderbird ? Thunderbird is a open software.configuration and tools are almost same in outlook and thunderbird.

Thunderbird not supporting .pst file it support only .msf files.The MSF files that are used by these email programs do not contain the actual contents of the email message that was sent or received using the email service. These files only contain an index of the messages and the message mail headers and summaries. The Earthlink and Mozilla email applications both use the .msf file extension for this purpose. 

1.Install thunderbird on you windows/Linux pc

2.New thunder bird you can see in the right panel three small lines(option arrow) click on that one 

3.Now you can see account setting other wise in the opening time also it ask to add a E-mail address

4.  In account setting you can see account action--->>open account action -->>add mail account

5.Enter name,E-mail id and password--->>continue

6.Now you can see manual configuration click on that one select incoming server as POP3

Incoming address pop.gmail.com ---->>port if you want then set other wise auto(set 995)

outgoing server:smtp.gmail.com--->>port if you want then set other wise auto(set 587)

7.Click on re-test

8.Click on Done

Note: here i am using gmail for testing,if your working in a company you can get the "smtp and pop" address then you can configure your company mail with thunderbird
