How to configure ADDS as a PDC(parent domain controller)

Hi,here i am explaining about how to configure ADDS service after installation (this only for training..in a company they already craeated the PDC we need to make

ADC(additional domain contoller),CDC(child domain contoller),RODC(read only domain controller).I will expain about ADC,CDC,RODC..after PDC creation)

It is the master.this one controll other ADC,CDC.Just what refer what is the exact link between ADC,PDC,CDC on myblog

1.Type "dcpromo /adv" this command is used to lauch the configuration window with advance(other wise you can use "dcpromo" and tick on advance"

2.click on next-->>next-->>Now it ask Existing forest/create a new domain in a new forest


 Existing forest:-Existing forest means if you have a PDC/ADC you need to create ADC/CDC then select existing


 Create a new domain in a new forest-:it means create with new PDC.select this option

3.Now it ask a FQDN(fully qualified domain name) it means with .com/.org..eg:google.com(here i am creting google.com)

4.Type google.com -->>Next -->>Now it shows a NetBIOS name that you can leave by default it takes "GOOGLE"-->>Next

5.Now it ask about forest functional level select latest functional level with you..scoll the option you can see Windows server 2008 R2-->>click on Next

6.Now it Ask to instll DNS(we are already set our adapter setting DNS as our server Ip)i will explain about DNS later because DNS is role more option is their.DNS also a required role for

ADDS.

7.Click on Next-->>Now it examing the DNS connection--->>and ask a prompt for Yes/No ---CLICK on yes-->>

8.Now it show the DB folder/log file folder/sysvol folder set as default and click on -->>Next

9.Now it ask a password for your ADDS(set a complex password it password policy contain 7 is the minimum character)eg:pass@123

10.Click on Next-->>it overview your setting verify and clik on -->>Next(it will tke few minutes..tick on Reboot on completion)

11.After retart you can see the difference in logon..(eg:Google/Administrator)

12.Login to administrator and check you DNS---change DNS to your ip address.if IPV6 is enable then Disable that one

13.Now ADDS is working but you need to configure DNS also thats why i will explain about ADC,DCD and RODC after DNS configuration(master).
